Mrs. Kristel Fulcher, Principal
Kristel Fulcher joined USD 232 in 2016 as the elementary curriculum coordinator before transitioning to Prairie Ridge Elementary where she has proudly served as principal for the past nine years. Mrs. Fulcher is dedicated to fostering a positive, student-centered learning environment where every child is encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Her career in education began in Iowa, where she taught for four years before moving to the Kansas City area and joining the Blue Valley School District. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of educational leadership roles, including assistant principal, district school improvement specialist, and classroom teacher. Her experience teaching second, fifth, and sixth grade continue to shape her understanding of high-quality instruction and student learning.
In addition to her work in K–12 education, Mrs. Fulcher served as a clinical instructor and field experiences supervisor for Kansas State University, mentoring and supporting future educators during their student teaching experiences.
Mrs. Fulcher earned a master's degree in educational leadership from Iowa State University. She also has bachelor's degrees in elementary education and early childhood education from Iowa State University, along with minors in reading and Spanish.
Outside of school, Mrs. Fulcher enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
Denise Porras, Building Coordinator
Denise Porras has been part of USD 232 at Prairie Ridge Elementary since 2007. Ms. Porras is currently the building coordinator and previously served as a fourth-grade teacher and technology teacher.
Prior to joining USD 232, Ms. Porras worked in the Olathe School District for seven years where she taught kindergarten, third grade, and fifth grade.
Ms. Porras earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, an administration license, and a bachelor’s degree in early childhood elementary education, all from Emporia State University.
Outside of school, Ms. Porras enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, traveling, and gardening.
